Two-Column Lists Help Teens Review

Creating a Running Concepts List is a helpful way for students to keep track of facts and memorize them later.

Encourage your teen to:

• Divide a piece of paper into two columns.
• Write terms or dates to be remembered in the left column.
• Write corresponding definitions or events opposite in the right column.

When it’s time to study for a test, your teen can cover up the right column and try to recall its information by looking at the left column. Then have your student switch, and try to recall the information on the left by looking at the right column.
