Make Memorizing Maps Easier
When studying history or government, your teen may have to memorize features on a map. Share these ways to make remembering maps easier:
- Take it in small bites. Your teen shouldn’t try to learn everything at once. Suggest breaking the map into small sections and working on them one by one.
- Try to follow a pattern. If your teen always works from west to east, or from north to south, it will be easier to recall the places in that order.
- Study often. Encourage your teen to avoid leaving map study until the last minute. Several short study sessions will be more effective.
- Use blank maps and try to fill in the details. There are several websites where your teen can download blank maps for free, including: World Map Blank.
