Three Questions Help Overcome Procrastination

Teens don’t always know how to make the best use of the time they have for schoolwork and studying. Many students put off work until the last minute and then do a rushed job.

To reduce procrastination, encourage your teen think about these questions during every study session:

  1. What is one task I can do to get closer to my goal for this assignment? Some projects can seem too big to tackle. But by taking one small step at a time, your teen will make progress.
  2. How did I just waste time? This will help your teen become aware of personal time-robbers.
  3. Can I do one more thing? This will help your teen stretch a little. And quickly looking over the notes one more time may help your student answer one or two more questions correctly on tomorrow’s test.
