Combine Physical Fitness with Enterprise
Has your teen become a couch potato? Wouldn't exercise unless paid to? Well, maybe somebody will offer payment.
Many of the odd jobs teens can do come with an added benefit—the physical activity they involve. Any of the following jobs will get your teen moving:
- Cleaning up. Housework can be great exercise. Perhaps a neighbor wants someone to clean out a garage or straighten up a basement.
- Yardwork. In spring and summer, your teen might weed gardens and mow lawns. In fall, leaves need raking or blowing. In winter, shoveling snow is great exercise.
- Babysitting. Keeping up with an active child is a job not often done sitting down. Young children love to climb and run. Your teen can work up a sweat running after them.
- Dog-walking. Taking a large dog for a walk builds arm muscles as well as leg muscles.
