Ask Your Teen to Teach You Something You Don't Know

One of the best ways to learn something is to teach it to someone else. Asking your teen to become your tutor is a great way to motivate your student to dive into a subject.

Choose a topic that your teen is learning that you'd like to know more about. Maybe you want to learn how to solve some of those complicated geometry problems your teen is tackling. Or perhaps you'd like to find out more about the apps your student thinks are useful or fun.

Next, ask if your teen is willing to tutor you—and take your learning seriously. Your student will have to do some in-depth learning in order to teach you. Schedule times when you can work together. And be sure to give your teen the respect that any teacher deserves.
