To help your teen do well in school, keep these S-T-U-D-Y elements in mind:
S is for: Schedule. Be aware of your teen's commitments and assignments. Check to see if your student is using time wisely.
T is for: Team. Work with your teen, the teachers and the school counselor to develop an education plan that spells out expectations for your student.
U is for: Use a daily assignment planner and project calendar. Your teen should write everything in it. This may be the simplest way students can improve their study skills.
D is for: Define weaknesses. Encourage your teen to work with teachers to identify the skills needed to improve in these areas.
Y is for: You, your teen's greatest advocate. When you work together, your student will succeed.
