Shift Attention From Problems to Solutions

It's important for middle and high school students to learn to solve problems for themselves. But they sometimes need a little steering in the right direction. The next time your teen comes to you for help solving a problem, help shift the focus to what your teen can do to make it right.

Try asking these questions:

What in this situation is working well?
Can you think of any solutions?
What results are you looking for?
What would you have to do to get those results?
