Show Your Teen the Benefits of Reading

Once students learn to read, parents are often less involved in helping them maintain their reading skills. And when everyone is stressed or busy, it sometimes just seems easier to "let them relax" and watch shows or play games on their phones instead.

But experts say this sends the wrong message. Reading is more than an assigned chore. Teens need to understand that people read their entire lives because they have many good reasons for doing so.

To inspire reading motivation, demonstrate its benefits. Show your teen how reading helps people:
