Make Schoolwork More Interesting for Your Teen
Even the most studious teens get bored with schoolwork sometimes. When your teen is in a rut, find activities that add spice to what she’s learning.
Here are some ideas:
- If your teen is reading a novel or play, try to find a film version and watch together. If she is studying Shakespeare, you may even be able to attend a live performance if pandemic conditions allow. Many regional theater companies perform Shakespeare’s works.
- If the subject is history, act out a historic moment, or look online for videos that dramatize the event. Visit a battlefield. Cook a food of the era your teen is studying.
- If it’s math or scientific theory, put it into practice. Your teen’s teacher may be able to give you some tips on experiments you and your teen can try at home that will illustrate what’s going on in class.
