Children’s vocabularies are filled with short, simple words. But kids also naturally mimic the vocabulary of adults.
Expand your child’s vocabulary by using some “big” words occasionally. (A big word is simply a word your child isn’t using yet.)
To teach your child a big word:
Use big words sparingly. Too many big words can overwhelm young children.
