Help Your Child Research Geography Reports Online

In elementary school, children often are assigned projects or reports about states or countries. These assignments are also good opportunities for students to begin learning how to do research online to find information. Help your child type in the name of the country or state into Google or another search engine. Then demonstrate how to follow the links.

Explain that a government website for the place may provide information that is more up-to-date than books available in your local library.

Going online is also a great way for your child to find maps for the report. If possible, print out blank maps as well so that your child can practice labeling the features.
