Boost Study Efforts with Flash Cards

For some kids, learning is easy. If they pay attention to the teacher and do their schoolwork, they learn the material. But for many other children, learning also involves study effort beyond the school day.

Flash cards are a useful tool for helping students study many subjects. Working with flash cards reinforces learning by making students recall what they know.

Most kids are familiar with flash cards in math. But flash cards are also a great way to learn science terms and vocabulary words. In social studies, flash cards can help kids memorize facts, names or the dates of important historical events.

Help your child use flash cards as a way of reviewing material. Have your elementary schooler say the words or problems aloud when studying the cards.

Flash cards are also portable. Encourage your child to study them in different places. Creating mental connections between the material and the locations your child studied it can also boost recall.
