Slow Down and Make the Pages Come Alive

What's one of the most common mistakes parents make when they read with their kids? Reading too fast.

Reading experts advise parents to slow down and "really get into the story." Be dramatic. Use different voices for each character and different sounds for each animal. Pause for emphasis. Encourage your child to do the same when reading aloud to you.
