Too many students believe that success in school is mostly due to intelligence, and that is something people are born with or not. But that's not true. Children who are willing to work hard at a subject frequently learn more and better than bright students who don't apply themselves.

That message carries over to the rest of life, as well. Even the most gifted athletes can't be winners if they don't practice every day. Even the greatest singers need to study throughout their careers.

The highest achievers are often those who have worked the hardest and done the most with the talents they have. Success leads to success. Those who work hard often end up outperforming everyone else. And the more they learn, the smarter they get.
