Take Part in a Family Play

If your family leans heavily on screens for entertainment, take a night off and produce the entertainment yourselves. Reading a play as a family is a great way to laugh and enjoy time together. And reading in character helps your child develop reading fluency.

You can find free scripts to download and print online. One site to try is Stories to Grow By.

Choose a play that your child might enjoy, and find a time when family members can gather to read the play aloud. Or have your children put on the play while the adults act as the audience.
