Choose Positive News Sources for Your Child

A lot of what happens in the world is alarming. Children can feel angry or scared after watching news programs. They might be sad or depressed. This tendency to be upset increases with age.

Fifth and sixth graders, in general, are more upset by TV news than kindergartners. They’re old enough to understand what they see. But they’re still too young to put it in perspective.
