Review Your Child's Schoolwork Every Day

In addition to helping students master concepts, schoolwork gives parents a sneak peek into what their children are learning.

Experts say that reviewing your child's schoolwork is important in every grade—even if you don't understand it. Your daily interest sends the message that learning is important.

Make it a point to:

• Set aside time every day to look at your child's returned classwork and any assigned work. Even if you're not at home when your child does assignments, always ask to see them.
• Ask your child to tell you about the work. What did your student like best about doing it? Was it easy or was it challenging?
• Praise your child's effort. Compliment schoolwork that is completed and neat.
