Celebrate Your Child's Very Own Library Card

What do you do to celebrate special days in your child's life? Did you take pictures on the first day of school? Did you save a lock of hair from your child's first haircut?

Getting a library card is another big "first." The card will open the door to a whole world of learning for your child. Having a personal library card can make your child feel proud and motivate interest in reading.

If your student doesn't have a library card, go together to get one. After your child gets a card, do something special to celebrate the occasion. Take a picture or fix a favorite dinner. And be sure to make regular library visits all year.
