Math + Ice Cream = Fun

Nothing adds fun to a hot summer day like ice cream. Make "ice cream-in-a-bag" with your child and you can provide some measuring practice, too! Have your child help you measure the following ingredients and put them in a zip-top plastic bag:

• One half cup milk.
• 1 tablespoon sugar.
• One quarter teaspoon vanilla.

Seal the bag, then put the sealed bag into a larger, gallon-size baggie. Add crushed ice and eight tablespoons of rock salt into the larger bag. Seal it and take turns shaking until you get ice cream!
