Creative Activities Build Reading Skills
Combining reading with creative activities develops your child's imagination and keeps the reading interesting. Here are some activities to try:
- Have your child draw pictures of favorite story characters or scenes from a favorite story. Encourage your child to include the story's setting and other characters in the pictures.
- Make up a simple song about story characters together. Ask, for example, "What would the three little pigs sing when the wolf is looking for them?" "How would the music sound?"
