Use a Family Motto to Inspire Perseverance

It isn't always easy for children to persevere in tough situations. But a family motto can be one way to help your child stick with a task or a learning challenge all the way to the end.

Think of a family saying that expresses this idea. You might say, "We never give up." Or, "In our family, we stick with it until it's done." Or you might simply say, "We finish what we start." Have family members make suggestions and decide together on a motto.

Over time, your child will internalize this saying. Don't be surprised if you overhear your student repeating it!
