Map the Way to Geography Success

Geography is a challenge for many kids (and adults!). Many people can't locate even well-known areas of the world on a map.

Posting a large wall map in your house can help your child put the world into perspective. Display the map in a place that's easy to see and touch.

Encourage your child to use the map to:

• Look up the places where the toys and clothes in your home are made.
• Pinpoint the places talked about in the books you read together, in the news and on TV.
• Follow the travels of a favorite sports team or band by marking their locations.
