Celebrate Bill of Rights Day

December 15th is Bill of Rights Day in the United States. On December 15, 1791, the first 10 amendments to the Constitution were ratified. These are known as the Bill of Rights. Does your child know about this important part of the Constitution?

Many freedoms are guaranteed in the Bill of Rights. For example, the First Amendment protects freedom of speech and freedom of religion. The Sixth Amendment says people have a right to a speedy and public trial by jury.

Celebrate the day by helping your child learn more about the freedoms the Bill of Rights grants to all Americans. On the National Archives website, your child can see pictures and read all about it.
