Focus on Learning More Than Grades

Sometimes parents help too much with children's schoolwork and projects. It can be really tempting. They want to make sure their kids get good grades. But ultimately, this doesn't help their children learn.

Here's a better approach: Focus less on grades and more on what your child can learn from doing the project herself. Show her how to find information in books or online. Help her plan enough time to do a good job. Ask the teacher for the other ways to support your child’s efforts.
