Use Jokes to Encourage Reading

Learning to read is hard work for kids. So remind your child how much fun reading can be.

Even if you aren’t a stand-up comic, chances are your six-year-old still thinks your jokes are great. Help him delight his friends during lunch. Write a joke on silly stationery and pack it in with his meal.

When he reads the joke to his friends, the laughter he will hear will make him feel special and very proud. That's a great feeling to connect with reading.
