Talk to Your Child About Promises

Promises are easy for kids to make. But sometimes they're hard to keep. Talk to your child about the importance of being trustworthy and keeping her word. Let her know that successful students can be counted on by their parents, teachers and classmates.

Ask your child to think about what happens when people don't do things they've said they would. Plants that don't get watered wilt. Garbage that isn't taken out smells. And animals that don't get fed get hungry!
